Gentle Yoga class

Level 1 and 2

 

This class is for absolutely anyone of any age, shape or size who wants to experience the many benefits of yoga.  No experience or flexibility required. Yoga lets you tune in, chill out, and shape up -- all at the same time!

Yoga is good for what ails you. A regular yoga practice: reduces stress and tension, controls weight, reduces depression, heightens the senses, improves circulation, creates self confidence, increases energy and flexibility, stimulates the immune system, strengthens and tones the body, builds stamina, boosts self-esteem, creates sense of well being and calm, and improves balance and coordination.

The 60 minute session includes warm-ups, heat-building postures, deep muscle stretches and Yoga Nidra a deep relaxation.

 

The Art of Deep Relaxation & Meditation

Level 1

 

In this class, we learn sequencing to elicit the relaxation response, while building a base for deeper mediation. Together we warm up with gentle hip opening poses; learn seated and centering techniques; practice self-reflection, the art of relaxation, guided visualization, and silent meditation; and meditate with the use of sound by listening to the soft music. In this class we only use Hatha Yoga (Physical Yoga). At the end of the practice we use a technique called Yoga Nidra, a Yogic Sleep. Vinyasa Flow + Hot Yoga

Level 2 and 3

 

In this class, we focus on how to use breath with movement and expanding the range of motion. Postures, including sun salutaions, standing poses, gentle twists, jumps,  and classic backbends, are held in accurate alignment, giving full range of motion to muscles, bones, and joints. In Hot Yoga we will heat up the room to about 89 to 92 degrees. Please be sure to drink plenty of water before you come. Hot Yoga is not recommended if you are pregnant or have high blood pressure.
